PPTA Withdrawing from bargaining talks - rostering reinstated

Withdrawing from bargaining talks - rostering reinstated

The PPTA executive determined last night to withdraw from bargaining talks immediately. Consequently, formal notices of industrial action in relation to rostering next Thursday (18th November) are being reissued today.

Both government and the ministry seem to have seriously underestimated the strength of PPTA members’ resolution, determination and, now, anger.

Yet again this morning the ministry and minister failed to front the important question ‘do you want a ratifiable settlement?’

As well as continued rostering for the rest of this term, members will be consulted in weeks eight and nine about a range of intensifi ed action beginning in term one next year. A range of advertising is also being organised to start in January 2011.

For clarification: all scheduled rostering remains in place and all bans continue

Year 9 - Thursday 18 November
Year 10 - Tuesday 23 November
Year 9 - Wednesday 1st December
