National Day of Action

NZEI is holding a national day of action on 1 February to mark the day that the Early Childhood Cuts come into effect.

To mark the day we are launching a community petition calling on the government to:
reverse the cuts to early childhood education funding, and commit to a plan to invest 1% of GDP on early childhood education as recommended by UNICEF.

The cuts mean many services are forced to reduce quality for under fives, or to raise fees, some families that cannot afford fee increases are being faced with touch decisions about who will care for their children during the day, NZEI members have already lost their jobs and more may sadly follow.

ISEA members are encouraged to support our colleagues in the NZEI.
